Tracking Electrons

Introduction:

Electrochemical processes have a practical importance in everyday life; most people take for granted the chemical reactions occurring inside the batteries that power our flashlights, toys, radios, and calculators. In an electrochemical process such as a battery electrons move from one point to the other. Electrons are not visible, so we can not see the path the electrons take in their journey. In this project we attempt to trace the flow of electrons in an electrolyte.

 Project description:
Movements of electrons can cause other chemical effects in their path that may be traced using reagents and pH indicators. In this project you will trace the movements of electrons in an electrochemical reaction.
