What is Needed to Start a Fire?
Introduction:

We use the heat of fire to cook meals, make hot water, melt metals, form glasses and build different varieties of products.

Although beneficial in most cases, fire can cause disasters when it is out of control. Every day, thousands of fire accidents occur in homes, work places, savannas and forests with no obvious reason.

By understanding what is needed to start fire, we can start controlled fire as needed, and prevent unexpected and uncontrolled fire.

Material and step by step instructions:
In this project students identify and examine material and conditions needed for fire to start. Material needed for experiments may be found at home or obtained locally. Adult supervision and support is required for the experiments of this project.
Details of this project:
More details or support on this project is available for the members of ScienceProject.com. By completing this project, students will be able to identify hazardous conditions and take necessary measures to prevent fire.
