How is paint affected by temperature changes?- Elasticity of rubber; effect of glue.
Introduction:
Rubber, paint and glue are three of the most commonly used polymers. Like most plastics, polymers often change when exposed to heat. Such changes may include melting, deformation, discoloration and other changes in the physical and mechanical properties of the polymers.

On the other hand in many instances these material need to be used in hot environments.

After all, paint, rubber and glue are not just for room temperature systems. Often scientists need to test the ability of such material in different temperatures. That's the way that you can tell if a special product can be used for certain applications.

Following are a collection of projects that examine the effect of temperature on certain types of polymers. If you have selected this project in the past, please log in and use the link to this project placed in your member page.
